He just drove us out and one of the younger guys gave a brief description and then let us swim. The boat captain is usually quite friendly and talkative giving a great narrative of the tour, but this time we had a quiet guy who didn't say much. They let you swim around for about 15-20 mins. It's completely safe and a wonderful experience. I highly recommend swimming if you can as that is what this tour is all about. On the tour a couple guys will be on the boat and will be taking your pictures while you swim (should you choose to). The "bar" at the boat launch is very understocked, basically rum punch with the cheap stuff and nothing else. They have a gift shop there where there were actually some good deals I should mention. Next time I'm going to skip the meal and just go right to the boat tour. I mean come on, they are out of strawberry daquiry mix? And every other mix? Doesn't know what to put with vodka? Seriously? The menu is quite simple and the same items every time I go. There is a fine dining restaurant there, but the bar is severely understocked and the bartender doesn't know how to make anything, or doesn't have the stock to make anything. Should you go? Absolutely, but the amenities have gone downhill in the past few years. It is close to where I stay, not too expensive and certainly a once in a lifetime experience that you will never find anywhere else. Or maybe even negotiate.I have been here 5 or 6 times now. If you try to take the pics yourself from the boat they wont come out. If you want one, this is the best way as they have the right kind of camera and know how to take them properly so that you can actually see yourself in the water with the glow all around you. The picture guys will try to sell you pics of you in the water. I didn't give them much because they didn't give me much that time around. They all expect a tip when you return, but it is not mandatory. It could have been better, like it used to be.
